Oregon-Canadian Forest Products is proud to have supplied material for the Shelburne Museum. The Shelburne Museum hosts over 150,000 works across 39 buildings near Lake Champlain in Vermont. Founded in 1947, the majority of it's structures are historic buildings, as such great care must be taken to preserve the overall feel of the property when adding new buildings.
Outside the Center for Art and Education
The Center for Art and Education began construction mid May of last year with an emphasis on vibrance and sustainability, providing 17,000 square feet of floor space to host classrooms, exhibitions, and an auditorium; all while meeting LEED standards. The addition of this center enables Shelburne to become a year round operation.
Covered walkways adorned with beautiful clear lumber
In addition to enabling full year operation, the Center for Art and Education also addresses space limitations. While 5,000 feet of the new building is dedicated to exhibitions, the other 12,000 feet is largely targeted towards education. Education programs will be available for child, adult, and senior audiences.
